What Should A Slave Girl Look Like?

Ask A Virtual Slave Girl

Here we have two slavegirls in one of the most public spaces in the
virtual world known as Second Life (the Gor Hub) and look how they're
dressed -- they're both practically naked, and the most practically naked
one is in bondage in virtual public. I thoroughly approve of this. (And no,
that's not my avatar facing the camera, though I do look kinda like that in
real life. Honest. Really.

OK, so there's this virtual world on the Web called Second Life that is a lot like World of Warcraft except that it's not all oriented toward medieval fantasy, in fact, the Second Life world isn't oriented toward anything -- it's divided into various regions and the players make the rules about how you play in each region on the grid ("the grid" is the term for the Second Life world simulation).

There's a wide range of costuming available to slavegirls in virtual Gorean markets, from stuff that would look at home on a public beach in the U.S. where nudity is generally Frowned Upon (lower left) to stuff that is difficult to distinguish from total nudity (upper right).

There are many people who enjoy roleplaying in Gorean sims on Second Life: I've read estimates that the various Gorean sims on Second Life comprise the third largest roleplaying sim in Second Life, which has been described as having five million members. It has been estimated that over 5,000 people a day go through a single Gorean market site, The Gor Hub, and that there are 200-300 Gorean sites in the Gor region (most have considerably less traffic than The Gor Hub, but many Gorean roleplayers go directly to their favorite site instead of going through the Hub).

It's quite common for kajira to wear these skimpy threads in public, in fact, this is their normal dress in public, for the most part. Just as I advise for sword and sandal/sorcery movies ... at least SOMEBODY shares my opinions on this topic.

The Gor Hub, and most Gorean markets (most Gorean sites have a market of some kind) are like almost any mall, a group of stalls where various corporations sell their goods. And as in most malls, the majority of stall holders sell (virtual) clothing.

And here's the point: look at what the virtual slavegirls of the Gor region choose as their preferred clothing: EXACTLY the sort of thing I've been saying slavegirls should be wearing in sword and sandal/sorcery movies. (Frex, compare the outfits in Electric Blue #44, which I cited as the best sexy slavegirl outfits to date, with the costumes seen here. I'd say the Second Life costumes are often sexier than the ones seen in Electric Blue.)

Threads designed to actually ACCENTUATE the wearer's vagina. I don't believe I've seen that ANYWHERE outside an out-and-out porn site.

The role of slavegirls in Gorean fantasy roleplay is highly sexualized so of course their outfits are sexy. (Enjoying a highly sexualized virtual lifestyle is one of the major attractions of Second Life, which has an "over 18" requirement for participants, though there are plenty of Second Life regions that aren't sexual in nature.)

Here's a kajira doing a sexy dance at the Gor Hub, wearing only a thong. A fairly commonplace sight, especially if you have some coin to jingle -- and Linden bucks, the local currency, are really cheap -- 5 USD buys you 1000 Linden bucks. Now, that's arbitrage!

By the way, I have blacked out the names of the avatars in this scene. Normally a person's name floats above their heads, and since I didn't solicit anyone's permission to run this photo, I think the right thing to do would be to protect their identity. Since avatars are purchasable as well as clothes (you get both for free when you sign up, but hey, when it's your body why not upgrade?) I'm not revealing identities by showing appearances.

My argument throughout "What Should A Slavegirl Look Like" has been that slavegirls can and should be used to increase the hottitude of sword and sandal movies. Now here is this whole huge population of women* who have the exact same taste I do about what a slavegirl should look like in a sexy sword and sorcery fantasy. I am not a voice crying out in the wilderness, I am one of many who have these tastes. Hollywood is often accused of pushing the sexy down the throat of an unwilling American public, yet here we have a public that's clearly a lot more interested in the sexy that sword and sandal movie producers are?

What's going on? I suspect that the freedom that the Internet has brought to people to express themselves sexually (and relatively safely) in the virtual world has created an increased tolerance for and interest in sexual imagery and activity among a large portion of the younger, more Internet savvy population. The older, less cyber-hip filmmakers are completely missing out on this, just as the old media (think newspapers) missed the way the immediacy of the Internet would eat their lunch.

Yeah, somebody really GETS the idea of "barely there" slavegirl dress. And great butt on that avatar.

Some mainstream media do get it. In 2007 Maxim put Second Life avatar called "Callie Cline" on its Hot 100 List of the hottest babes of the year. I don't think she's all that compared to any of the other avatars, who are uniformly beautiful (just as all the male avatars are handsome). But feel free to check out the link above and decide for yourself. The audience is still far ahead of filmmakers with regard to sexuality, however.

Do they have bondage gear for sale as well? Oh, HELL YES! Is it in use on Gorean sims in public areas? Duh.

Hollywood producers, directors and writers would listen to me and the Gorean kajira roleplayers on Second Life they have any sense, but for the most point, they don't. Every R-rated sword and sorcery movie could benefit from this sort of costuming. But it's unlikely to happen, even though it's been repeatedly proven that sexy sword and sandal/sorcery movies do well at the box office, though their budgets be ever so low. Low fantasy beats high fantasy, every time.

ALSO FROM PAT POWERS
*I realize that not everyone who represents themselves as female (or male) on the Web is telling the truth. However, in my opinion people are fairly honest about their gender wrt sexual roleplaying, not because of any wonderful morality, but because people roleplay the things they are interested in, and most people are not all that interested in transgender roleplaying because they are straight. They may experiment out of curiousity, but it won't "do it" for them and so they go back to natural gender roleplay because that "does it" for them. There will be some transgender roleplayers of course, but not enough to worry about, unless you are prone to worry about such things a lot, in which case I advise avoiding online sexual roleplaying.

In short, I don't think the taste for sexy slavegirl clothes in Second Life is being driven by a bunch of gay guys disguised as slave girls. Someone once said of Second Life Gor, "Gor is actually run by a bunch of bored housewives posing as slavegirls." He or she was probably right, in my opinion. So, it's not gay people that share my opinions about how slavegirls should be dressed, it's bored housewives who join me in my masculine and studly ... er ...

Princess Leia virtual slave gear? It was inevitable.
