
The pen and ink work on the Savage Sword of Conan stories are INCREDIBLY good. Chapter headers like this one are frequently the rationale for impressive landscape shots, often dealing with demon-haunted ruins like this one. But on most stories, EVERY LAST PANEL is well drawn and intricately detailed where appropriate. It's easy to see how Savage Sword of Conan got its rep for being, well, great. BTW, comic book aficianados say that the reproductions in Savage Sword of Conan Volumes 1 and 2, though excellent, aren't quite as good as the original. And my scans, though pretty good, lose a lot in relation to the Savage Sword of Conan Volumes 1 and 2, for example, I left the pages in the book so on panels that run all the way to the spine (like this one, and in fact, most of them) you get blurring and shadowing
