gagged and bound with tape in an add encouraging freedom of speech. Jessica Alba is one of those actresses who seems to have the sexy/sweet formula down. For an actress who famously refuses to do nude scenes, she has the fanboys drooling, taking the lead or at least a top ten position in every celebrity Hottitude survey conducted since she got too big for the swimsuit she wore in her Flipper days. Alba certainly is a gorgeous woman but I personally have never been able to reconcile her nudity taboo with being a hottie. In my mind the two are not compatible. Ah, well, perhaps she's just the hottie that all the fanboys dream of bringing upstairs to Mother. But Alba has no conjunctions about appearing in bondage. In fact she seems to have an attitude that exactly mirrors that of famous bondage hottie Betty Page. When asked, long after her modeling career was over, if she regretted all those kinky bondage photo shoots, she said that she did not, that the nudie shots were the only things shehad done that struck her as having been sinful. (Page became a devout Christian after quitting modeling.) In the September 2011 issue of Lucky magazine there's an interview with Alba which mentions her refusal to do nude scenes in movies, and then almost immediately afterward the interviewer points out to Alba that she appears in “bondage gear” (it was medical tape) in an ad supporting freedom of speech, to which Alba replied, “at least I didn't have my breasts and bum hanging out!” An interesting coincidence, to say the least. I suppose that's why there are so many images of Alba playing the damsel in distress, she considers it less of a sexy thing than being naked. And perhaps she is in tune with her audience. I for one am not going to argue with her, if it leads to more tasty bondage imagery! But then, I'll never really think of her as a hottie, either. |
