Angelina Jolie is not really a mirror image of Kate Winslet, she's
more a flip side. Both are generally acknowledged to be very talented
actresses, both have absolutely no problem with nudity and sexuality.
But Winslet is kind of a healthy Earth mama sexuality, whereas Jolie is
a Bad Girl of sexuality. Not that Angelina will steal from you or kill
you or anything, but if you want to a Dirty Deed Jolie will do it good
and dirty and you will get that illicit thrill from it, even if it was
something as innocent as tying a cherry stem into a knot with her
tongue which you TOTALLY know she can do. Whereas Winslet would make any sex act seem wholesome, even it was tying her up and tossing her into a pit of live squid for some serious tentacle rape. “It's Calamari Cuddling!” she would declare delightedly just before the tentacles entered her mouth. Given this, it's kinda surprising that we have only a few bondage scenes for Jolie and that most of them are fairly lame: a cuff scene in Salt, medical bondage in Changeling and Girl, Interrupted, a wrist tie but at least behind-the-back in Mojave Moon, and hands tied in front in Tomb Raider 2. It's quite a collection, but none of it the edgy stuff you KNOW she does for fun. There is also a lot of noise on some celebrity blogs about some "bondage photos" of Jolie that have surfaced from her "wild days" in the 90s. I've seen them, they are blurry, badly lit shots of Jolie, if it's Jolie, and in one of them she is wearing what MIGHT be a leather collar, or it might be a leather necklace. Whatever it is, none of it is actual bondage. But that doesn't stop the celebrity bloggers from calling it that, because they know what sells. |
